Pioneer Valley Hockey accepts skaters of all proficiencies, even brand new skaters and families new to hockey.

For younger children brand new to hockey or skating, our Learn To Skate/Learn to play is a great, affordable option to learn the foundation of both skating and hockey. Sessions run once a week from December to March.  Ice is divided into two sections so our coaches and volunteers can cater to the individual needs of the children either learning to skate or learning the foundations of hockey. 

We are a USA Hockey affiliated program part of The Greater Springfield League and offer programs according to the set age classification system. Our season runs from September to March and practices are held at our home ice rink, Fitzpatrick Arena in Holyoke, MA.

As an organization we believe hockey is more than just a sport, aiding in building a foundation of confidence, responsibility and friendships that can last throughout your child's lifetime.

Hockey can help children develop a positive attitude, positive self-image and self-esteem while providing a non-sedentary activity that is fun and fast paced.

Whether your child is brand new to hockey or an experienced skater,  Pioneer Valley Youth Hockey Association strives to provide your child with the appropriate guidance they need individually to become successful in their hockey journey.
